Not many of us enjoy spending our weekends vacuuming the house. That’s why it is imperative it is as easy and efficient as possible, so you can get back to enjoying your relaxing time off.

I personally found the Xiaomi stick vacuum cleaner super easy to maneuver around corners, and tight spaces, and the additional attachments are great for cleaning all areas of your home. Emptying the dustbin is painless, simply detach it, hover it over your bin, and open the lid. If you have loads of pet or human hairs laying around or a super dusty old home like mine, you can expect to empty the dustbin every 5 or so cleans.

One of my favorite features of the Xiaomi stick vacuum cleaner is the flashlight on the brush head. It guides you to where the dirt, dust, and hair are.

I was actually a bit horrified the first time I used it as it really highlights how dirty your wooden floors can get! It’s also great for use under the bed or in dark corners, or simply dim the lights to let the Xiaomi guide you to where it needs a good vacuum.

As a Dyson V8 user previously, I must say I much prefer how you don’t have to hold down the power button on the Xiaomi as you do with the Dyson. My finger would always ache after a long clean with the Dyson! With the Xiaomi you simply press it on and when you’re done press it off.

Lastly, when it comes to stick vacuum cleaners in general, you can’t beat how convenient they are for quick cleans. Spill some flour in the kitchen?

The Xiaomi has high engine power and 120 air watts of suction, meaning it handles any debris with ease. I found that it works on a variety of surfaces such as hardwood floors, carpets, tiles, and rugs. Switch between low gear, medium gear, and high gear depending on the suction required for the surface you are cleaning.

I found the cleaning effectiveness to be incredibly comparable to the Dyson V8.

Another advantage of the Xiaomi Viomi A9 is the five-stage air purification. One of these stages is the HEPA12 system, which separates up to 99.9% of contaminants from clean air and collects them in a container with a capacity of 0.4 liters.

This is great for others out there like me that suffer from hay fever and allergies. I need to keep my home as dust free as possible to avoid setting off my hay fever.

How long does the Battery Power Last?

I found the Xiaomi to have a very reasonable battery life. It lasts for approximately 10 Minutes at Max Power, 30 Minutes at Medium Power, and 60 Minutes at eco power.

This beats the Dyson’s V8 max battery life of 40 minutes.

Stick vacuum cleaners are designed more for quick cleans rather than the whole house, thorough cleans. Although possible, you may just need to take a coffee break if it runs out, can’t complain about that though!

Every time I use the vacuum I always put it on charge to ensure it is fully charged for the next clean.

Firstly, I find the brush head to be slightly smaller than a Dyson or a bagged vacuum cleaner, so less surface area is covered when vacuuming.

And lastly, I find that the suction power is not as powerful as bagged vacuums when taking the brush head off to clean window sills or tight spaces.
